Light is truly amazing, isn't it? It's got this incredible, transformative energy that does so much more than just brighten up our world. It helps us see the beauty around us, both literally and metaphorically. Think about it: light brings clarity, knowledge, and hope into our lives. And when we talk about bringing more light into our lives, whether it’s natural or spiritual, it really can have a huge impact on how we feel and think.
Take sunlight, for instance. It's not just nice to bask in; it’s essential for our health. It helps regulate our body’s internal clock, boosts our mood, and gives us that all-important Vitamin D, which is great for our bones, immune system, and even our mental health.
But light isn’t just about the physical. It’s a universal symbol for clarity and understanding. In so many cultures and traditions, light is tied to enlightenment and the pursuit of truth. Bringing this kind of metaphorical light into our lives means we’re open to learning and growing. It’s about being curious, reading books, taking courses, and engaging with different people. It’s also about taking time to reflect on our experiences and feelings; things like meditation or journaling can really help us understand ourselves better.
Another wonderful thing about light is how it spreads. Just like a candle lighting another without losing its own flame, our acts of kindness and positivity can lift up those around us. Simple things like a smile, a kind word, or helping someone out can make a big difference.
We all have this inner light, sometimes called the "inner flame" or "spark of the divine." This light is our true essence, our soul. It’s a source of wisdom and love, and reconnecting with it is a big part of our spiritual journey.
Meditation is a great tool for this; it helps us quiet our minds and tap into deeper consciousness where we can find clarity and insight. Recognising that our inner light is part of a greater universal light gives us a sense of oneness with everything around us. Once we’ve connected with our inner light, the next step is to share it. This isn’t about trying to convert anyone to a certain way of thinking, but rather living in a way that radiates love, compassion, and truth. Acts of service and kindness aren’t just good for others; they also deepen our own connection to that divine light.
And let’s not forget the power of creating spaces filled with light, whether that’s through candles, crystals, or calming music. These things can really elevate the energy around us and make our environment more positive and uplifting.
Over the years I have shared the teachings of the Modern Mystery School traditions as they hold key components of how to embrace the light and recognise and honour the god or goddess within each of us.
I love to teach, share and help others to understand and align with the concept that true service that leads us towards greater awareness, compassion and unity. By cultivating our inner light and sharing it with others, we contribute to a brighter, more enlightened world.
